Dr. Eric graduated from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Cum Laude.  Upon completing his dental degree, he proudly served the New England area as a Dental Practitioner.  After a few years, he returned back to his hometown of Toronto. Dr. Eric is looking forward to serving the Schomberg community with passion and enthusiasm.  During his own complicated dental experiences since childhood, he was fortunate to have dental professionals that were gentle, patient, and kind.  He saw what a difference this made to his experience, and he would like to pass the positivity forward. So that he can better serve his patients, Dr. Eric makes learning and advancement of his dental knowledge and skills a top priority. In his spare time, Dr Eric enjoys fishing, skiing, and spending time with his family and friends.

DMD, MBA

Dentist

Dr. Val graduated from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Cum Laude. While in school, she was involved in local volunteer and community work. She started an outreach project to educate lower-income families regarding dental care and hygiene at  The Julie’s Family Learning Program, South Boston.  For her commitment to community work, she was awarded the DentaQuest Foundation Award for Outstanding Community Dental Project.  After graduation, Dr. Val moved to practice dentistry in Keene, NH for couple years, and she was voted best dentist award in Keene, NH in 2016. Dr. Val is passionate about life-long learning.  She broaden her dental horizon through continuing education and dental conferences.  She enjoys keeping up to date with dental advances.  Through this, Dr. Val’s ultimate goal is to provide her patients with a positive dental experience.  She is looking forward to serve the Schomberg community. On her spare time, Dr. Val enjoys cooking and learning about food from different parts of the world.

Dr. Steven Zhao, D.D.S

Dentist

Dr. Steven Zhao possesses a strong passion for providing personal, patient centered, and evidence-based care through continuing education courses. He was awarded the Toronto Crown and Bridge Award for the most outstanding work in prosthodontics and restorative dentistry while obtaining his Dental Degree from the University of Toronto. He also has a special interest in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry. Dr. Zhao focuses on personal attention to each and every one of his patients while addressing their anxieties and concerns. He encourages open discussion and takes the time to explain treatments to his patients. What he enjoys the most about dentistry is not only building beautiful smiles, but listening and sharing stories with his patients. When Dr. Zhao isn’t building confident and healthy smiles, he’s out trying new restaurants, spending time outdoors on the lake, listening to music, and improving his photography skills.

Dr. Shalev Sabari, DMD, cert. Ortho.

Dr. Sabari has been helping patients achieve their beautiful, healthy smiles since 2008. He is experienced and enjoys treating patients of all ages. He is dedicated to serving his patients with care and compassion in a fun and informative atmosphere. Dr. Sabari understands that the most important aspect of communicating is listening. Therefore, he believes that in addition to providing you with a beautiful healthy smile, it is his role as your doctor to listen and answer all your questions. Dr. Sabari takes the time to explain your treatment options and recommend the treatment most suited for you. Dr. Sabari looks forward to meet you and your family and serve you with excellent customer service and patient care.

Ryan Assal

Denturist

Since 1993, Ryan Assal has been a professional dental/denture technologist and has worked in professional labs throughout England, the Middle East, and Canada. Through this global experience, he has mastered the craft of not only making dentures, but also manufacturing crowns, bridges, and orthodontics.

Since 2000, he has operated his own clinical lab and continues to provide technical services to nearly two dozen dentists around the Greater Toronto Area. In addition, Ryan operates the Caledon Denture Clinic in Bolton. Ryan takes great pride in the quality of his work, commitment to customer care, and the level of service he provides to his clients. He is happy to be part of the Schomberg Dental team, adding another dimension of care for our clients and friends.

Hi there! I’m Shawna-lei, usually the first face you’ll see here at Schomberg Dental & Orthodontics. I joined the team in December 2019 and have had a ton of wonderful interactions with the community here since. I have worked in the Customer Service field for 6 years in restaurants and in medical and dental offices. Away from the work you can find me tending to my island on Animal Crossing, reading comics and attending concerts (hopefully sometime in the future)

I graduated in 2008 with honours from the dental hygiene program & I am fortunate to have been with this team since we opened the clinic. I love working with clients to help them achieve good oral health and overall health too. I am passionate about helping people feel more comfortable in the dental office while still accomplishing all of their smile goals. In my free time I love spending time with my 2 kids and husband. I also enjoy keeping active, snowboarding, swimming and I love to bake too.

Hi I’m Rose. I am a registered dental hygienist, a red seal certified chef, and the mom of four awesome children. My love for people and my passion for optimal oral health, made it an easy choice to become a dental hygienist. My world travel experience and my involvement in multiple varied cultures, give me the ability to connect with patients on both a professional and personal level. In my time away from the dental chair, I enjoy being creative in the kitchen, working in my vegetable garden, and spending time with family.

Hello, my name is Tama. I have been with Schomberg Dental and Orthodontics for 7 years. I’m a certified level II dental assistant and have been assisting for over 20 years. I’m also a certified dental receptionist and you might find me behind the front desk helping out where I can. My job presents differently every single day on a patient-to-patient basis. What stays the same though is how I strive to make patients feel comfortable from the moment they enter the office to the moment they leave. In my spare time I like to paint, crochet, go camping with my family in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter. I also love being able to travel to somewhere warm.

My name is Dayna, I grew up in Bond Head and love the small town feel. I graduated from dental school in 2011 and my favorite thing about being in the dental world is seeing how a new smile that I helped create can change a person’s life. I live in Innisfil with my 3 cats (Tigger, Kaya and Zig) and dog ( Duke). If I’m not working I enjoy riding and showing my horse Raz, taking Duke for hikes, relaxing and watching halloween shows. I hope to see your smile around the office.

My name is Ilenia! I am a University of Guelph graduate with a major in Biological Sciences and a minor in Nutrition and Nutraceutical Sciences. I love working at Schomberg Dental and Orthodontics because of the fantastic staff and patients. I enjoy being active and hiking in new exciting places. Spending time with my bunny, love birds, two cats and four chickens is another one of my favourite past times. I am also very interested in bee keeping and determined to start my own bee hive in the future!

Hi, I’m Emily and I help ensure that everything is sterilized, cleaned and ready for your visit. Although I received my diploma from Humber College for Social Service work; I found this opportunity and love working in this industry and with such a great team. In my spare time I love to spend time with family and friends. I also am a pet parent to 8 animals.

Hi! I’m Breann! I am our part time floater and front desk receptionist. I have been working here now for a little over two years now and have learned more than I could have ever imagined. I have lived in the town of Schomberg my entire life and love this community and the patients it brings in. I am honoured to work with such an amazing team. As my full time days come to an end, you can find me at the office every working Saturday. My behind the scenes work will typically involve the decorations you see for any upcoming holidays! As for my days away from the office, I am currently studying to become an American Sign Language Interpreter at George Brown College. In my free time I love spending my days cooking up new plant based recipes and baked goods!
